Attorney James Sabatini recently secured a $235,000.00 settlement in a wrongful discharge in violation of an important public policy case. It is illegal in the State of Connecticut for an employer to terminate and employee in retaliation for the employee refusing to engage in activities that may be illegal. In this case, the client was being asked to perform work that fell outside of the scope of what her professional license allowed to do. She told her employer that she would not perform work as she was not licensed to do so. In response, her employer terminated her employment.
