A recent Connecticut case involving an employee's termination following her Facebook post made national headlines. The case involved a union worker who went on Facebook and posted that her boss was a jerk. Well, her employer found out about it and fired her. The employee sued and the case recently settled. While the case sets an important precedent for union workers, it has no application to employees at will. So if you are an employee at will (most of us are), posting negative comments on the internet about your employer can still result in a perfectly lawful termination.
